Silverburn shopping centre has come under fire after shoppers complained of being stuck on the top floor of the multi-storey car park due to grid-locked traffic.Angry shoppers took aim at south side shopping centre on twitter, with families and elderly people among those stuck in the traffic.
Whyyyy is no one moving 🤔 — Rachel Maley (@rachelmaley) March 10, 2018 A woman on the third level of [email protected] car park with 2 small kids stuck for an hour and a half. Thankfully my friend and I can go back in, what’s the plan silverburn??
— Rosa Zambonini (@ROSAZAMBONINI) March 10, 2018 STV weatherman Sean Batty was among the angry shoppers who couldn't get out.
He tweeted the centre: "Stuck on the 4th floor of the @shopsilverburn multi-storey car park for 45 mins and not moved at all! " Silverburn staff have been doing all they can to try and shift the traffic and get cars moving as quickly and safely as possible.
A Silverburn spokesperson said: "Our team are working hard to try and get everyone who is trying to exit out as quickly and as safely as possible thanks again for your patience." Been on the fourth floor of the multistorey carpark at Silverburn for an hour and not moved. Your staff who are trying to control the traffic have no clue.
— Craig Lin (@Craig Lin) March 10, 2018 @policescotland is there anything you can do about the multi story car park at silverburn?
My husband and son have been stuck there on the 4th floor for over 2 hours and not moved hardly! Send traffic control or something as staff are doing nothing to help!
